Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding


Raisins contain resveratrol which have many health benefits. Cinnamon also has many health benefits.
·    Cinnamon is filled with antioxidants, which protect us from free radicals, which has been linked to many degenerative diseases,
·    It has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties. Cinnamon fights viruses and inhibits 
     the growth of harmful bacteria.
·    It contains high levels of manganese and calcium that help with strong bones and cartilage
     development. It also stabilizes the blood sugar levels.

     




        

















            Cinnamon Raisin Bread Pudding
10 slices firm white bread
½ stick butter, melted
1 cup golden raisins
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Salt
4 eggs
4 cups milk
1 tsp vanilla
¼ cup apple jelly
Method
·       Brush one side of each slice with melted butter, cut into quarters.
·       Arrange bread, overlapping, in shallow 2quart. Baking dish,
·       Sprinkle with raisins. Mix sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle half over bread.
·       Combine remaining sugar cinnamon mixture, salt and eggs in large bowl, beat with wire          whisk or rotary beater, just until combined. Stir in milk and vanilla, ladle over bread.
         Preheat oven to 350.
·       Set baking dish in a shallow pan, place pan on oven shelf, pour boiling water into pan to a     depth of 1 inch.
·       Bake in a preheated moderate oven for 50 minutes or until center is almost set, but still         soft, remove baking dish from water to a wire rack.

·       Melt apple jelly in small saucepan, brush over top of bread pudding. Serve hot.
